In an industry where cyber security is not just a priority but a regulatory requirement, the company had already made significant strides by implementing Microsoft Intune, achieving Cyber Essentials certification, and maintaining rigorous security protocols. Recognising that user awareness is a critical component of a robust cyber defence strategy, the organisation engaged Akita to develop and implement a comprehensive training programme.

User Awareness Initiative

With over a hundred users across various departments, the insurance company understood the importance of a proactive approach to cyber security education. Akita designed a rolling, one-month campaign aimed at enhancing user vigilance across all job roles and levels of seniority. The programme leverages advanced AI technology to create simulated phishing emails, testing users’ ability to recognise and respond to potential threats.

Detailed reports are provided to management, offering insights into user engagement, campaign metrics, and emerging trends. Each month, new email content and tactics are introduced to ensure that employees remain vigilant against evolving threats.

Cyber Security Training For Insurance

Following the phishing simulations, any employees who interact with the simulated attacks are required to complete online cyber security training. These sessions are designed to educate employees on best practices, threat detection techniques, and effective incident response protocols.

The training is interactive and practical, equipping employees with the skills needed to identify phishing attempts, malware, and social engineering tactics. Completion of the course requires users to correctly answer all questions, ensuring a solid understanding of the material.

Results

The initiative has already yielded significant results, with a marked increase in employee awareness and vigilance. The competitive spirit among staff has led to a shared determination not to be the one caught out by increasingly sophisticated phishing simulations.
